Drawing from the european myth cycles, the heathen gods and the old ways,  I make work that explores the mysterious and unseen parts of reality.  Blessed to be living in the magical lands of East Lothian, I am constantly inspired by the two great Laws rising from the landscape and the lore surrounding them. 

 

Tales of the King of the Goddodin, wise maidens on the mounds, holy wells and goblin halls, Dark Age history feels tangible in this land.  You can almost feel the breath of the ancestral gods on the back of your neck as you wander the ancient woodlands.

Through researching these layers of myths and history I have found myself a deep well of inspiration to draw from.  I use the means of painting, sculpture, collage and printmaking to express these ideas.
